The first session is a 60-minute intake appointment where we take time to explore your history, current concerns, and goals for therapy. This is an important step in getting to know you and building a thoughtful treatment plan that reflects your needs, strengths, and preferences.
Because we may talk about past experiences and current challenges, the first session can sometimes feel emotional or a bit overwhelming. We will move at a pace that feels manageable, and you are always welcome to pause, ask questions, or share only what feels comfortable. My goal is for you to feel supported, respected, and understood from the very beginning.

Standard individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes. The first appointment is an intake session, which lasts 60 minutes and allows us to explore your history, current concerns, and goals in more depth.
EMDR and extended trauma-focused sessions are typically 100 minutes. Longer sessions can support deeper processing while still allowing time for grounding and integration.
We will discuss together which session length is most appropriate based on your needs and treatment goals.
The length of therapy varies depending on your goals, history, and the type of support you’re seeking. Some clients come for short-term support around a specific issue, while others engage in longer-term trauma or attachment work. We will regularly review your progress and adjust the pace of therapy together.

These sessions help parents better understand their child’s emotional needs, strengthen connection, and learn strategies that support emotional regulation and growth at home. Parent involvement is an important part of the healing process when working with children.
