Support for anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, burnout, and feeling stuck. Individual therapy takes a whole-person approach by considering underlying factors, life context, and the systems affecting your well-being. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, the work helps uncover and aim to address the root causes of presenting concerns to support deeper, more lasting change.
Although play therapy can be beneficial across ages, it is especially well suited for children ages 3 to 12. While children’s verbal abilities continue to develop, play can become an essential way for them to express themselves, process experiences, share their inner world, and heal. Through play therapy, children can work through concerns, cope with difficult emotions, build healthier ways of responding, and support growth and healing.
EMDR therapy can help address PTSD, traumatic experiences, anxiety, phobias, grief, and other distressing experiences that continue to feel unresolved. It follows a structured process that includes preparation and stabilization before reprocessing begins. EMDR helps the brain work through distressing memories in a way that can reduce emotional intensity and support healing. For some individuals, this may feel more efficient than conventional therapy. Intensive sessions are available upon request.
Trauma therapy helps when our past experiences still affect our daily lives, relationships, emotional regulation, or our sense of safety in the present. It can help individuals work through complex trauma, PTSD, traumatic memories, accidents, near-death experiences, and other overwhelming or unresolved experiences. This work often includes psychoeducation, nervous system support, grounding, somatic and emotional regulation, and processing past experiences in a way that can reduce their hold on the present.
At Theia Counseling, trauma therapy is approached from a whole-system perspective. The goal is not only to process what happened, but also to help strengthen the system, build the capacity to self-regulate, and support a greater sense of safety, stability, and empowerment. Over time, this work can help clients release the grip of the past and move forward with more clarity, resilience, and freedom.
Support for children and teens navigating emotional, behavioral, relational, and developmental challenges. This work may include anxiety, emotional regulation, school-related stress, family changes, parent-child conflict, and difficulties in communication or connection at home. Therapy is tailored to the child or teen’s age, needs, and developmental stage. It also helps parents better understand what may be happening and how to respond in ways that strengthen understanding, connection, and support at home.
Family therapy is also available when appropriate. Please reach out if you would like more information.
Coaching is a future-focused process designed to support clarity, direction, and intentional change in areas such as career, relationships, parenting, and personal growth. Unlike psychotherapy, coaching is not focused on treating mental health conditions or processing unresolved trauma, but on helping you identify goals, navigate challenges, and move forward with greater purpose and alignment.
